Playing Online Baccarat: Knowing the Basics

With a couple of cards in your hands, you try to push your luck. You're aiming for the lucky combo totaling to nine or if lady luck falls short, a total of six is second best. The goal, as mentioned in the first paragraph, is to get a total value of nine or any number closer to such or any value higher than that of the bank. Of course, each card has their corresponding value. The cards bearing the numbers 2 to 9, reflects its own value. The ace card is equivalent to one. While face cards such as the king amounts to nothing, zero, nil. So if you're dealt with an ace and a king, your total is one---the number designated to an ace. If you have a two and a seven, you just won the online baccarat. Congratulations!

However, if you have a six and a five, then you're one unfortunate soul. The rule is that if you reach a total having two digits in it, you have to drop the one on the left. Ergo, you're left with a total of 1. Tsk, tsk.

The dealer will distribute two cards each for the bank and the player. The game starts when you've placed a wager in favor of the bank or the player or for a tie. More often than not, the bank wins. Due to such routine occurrence, there's a 5% that need to be paid to the casino every time the bank prevails. This is what you call vig. Again, be it online baccarat or otherwise, you have to furnish a 5% commission. This is mandatory.
